A very charming early 19thC English wax over composition doll.
I have always had a soft spot for these dolls, though they rarely survive well they have such a naïve charm.
This girl I would date at around 1850.
She is has a chubby face ( which does have cracking to the wax).
She has piercing blue glass eyes and wooden lower arms and lower legs with sweet pink painted boots.
Her hair is really gorgeous, a mass of tiny curls that have survived in wonderful condition.
Her outfit is completely original as is her waxed cotton underwear.
She measures 17" tall.
