Charlotte Victoria is a rare carved wooden shoulder head doll dating from the early 1840's.
Charlotte bares a striking resemblance to a younger queen Victoria which was most probably the intention. She is a very beautiful doll with great soul and character.
She has a beautifully carved wooden shoulder head, which is painted stunningly and although there are the usual dings and rubs to be expected overall her condition is good with no peeling or repaint.
There is a break to the bottom of her shoulder plate at the back were you can see this has been repaired a long time ago.
Charlotte has a stuffed cloth body with carved wooden lower arms and early leather boots attached to her lower legs.
Her wooden lower arms look to have a fair amount of wear, she wears lace gloves which we haven't tried to remove. Her lovely early leather boots do show wear but are still strong. Her original cloth body is in overall good condition but does look to have some repair on the top of her arms.
Charlotte is a big girl measuring 24". She wears her original silk dress which is stunning and in good condition, she also has a lace bonnet/snood and a blonde lace shawl which does have some ware.
Charlotte is a wonderfully grand lady and will enhance any doll collection.
