Celeste is a beautiful doll indeed.
She is a rare and early example of a child fashion doll from the 1860s.
There were few French factories making these dolls at this time, Celeste has a face to die for .
She resembles so closely the dolls of Adelaide Huret.
Her dolls were copied by several factories in the 1860s.
Celeste is not marked but I personally feel she is most like by the Blampoix factory.
Celeste is just 13 inches tall, a wonderful size.
She has her original shapely kid stuffed body which is in overall good condition.
Her china head is in good condition also with no damage or repair.
She wears an original 1860s burgundy wool enfantine dress.
She has a long blonde mohair wig which is lovely and retains her original leather boots and socks.
She has an early straw hat and a fabulous French leather bag which matches her dress perfectly ( I added this)
