An incredibly rare collection of tiny carved linden wood figures from the swiss alps village of Brienz. This village was known for their exquisite wood carvings.
These tiny figures date from around the middle of the 19thC. The workman ship is beyond exquisite, the legs on some of the animals are as fine as a hair. This stunning set has 16 figures in total.
There is minor damage the horse has lost half a leg, the goat has lost a leg, the cow has lost an ear and a horn and we think one of the men figures would of been holding something which is now missing.
Other than this these tiny figures are in wonderful condition which is truly incredible and can only be put down to the fact that they have remained in their lovely original wooden bounded box all of their lives and rarely played with, we doubt many figures will have survived so many years. These tiny treasures make a wonderful addition to an early dolls house particularly in the nursery.
