This is an incredibly rare little clock.
Most certainly dating from the early 19thC .
The clock is made from solid brass. The clock movement is gorgeous, the workings are very like those of an early pocket watch but this movement was clearly made for this clock, making it very rare.
The movement does work, I found an appropriate sized watch key and wound it up, it ticks away beautifully but doesn’t appear to keep good time so may need looking at by a clock maker, personally I just lie to hear them tick inside a dollshouse.
The clock has an integral thermometer ( not working) the 2 temperature scales are f- Fahrenheit and R -Reaumur.
The Reaumur scale was commonly used in France during the 18thC, it was still used in other European countries until the mid 19thC.
The clock measures 8 inches tall so is a perfect dollshouse size.
