This has to be the most beautiful example of a 19thC miniature French vitrine. Superbly crafted with such attention to detail. Bevelled glass lid finally worked filigree sides, superb padded and studded silk interior.
Now what makes this item so special is that it comes with its original contents of curiosities; a tiny carved ivory sewing set in a silk basket, a tiny carved ivory child's spinning top (4cm), tiny fully jointed grodnertal (3cm), tiny grodnertal in tiny early 19thC shoe(shoe 2cm, grod 2cm), tiny early beaded bracelet, tiny early book and a tiny eglomise early 19thC portrait of a young girl.
A wonderful display for any early dolls to gaze at.
The vitrine is 6" tall by 6" wide by 4.5" deep.
