SOLD Very Rare papier Mache doll circ 1810

This is a very rare doll indeed.
She is 12 inches tall.
Dating from around 1810, very few papier mache dolls survive from this early period.
She has the most beautifully painted face with wonderful early hairstyle and delicate ringlets to the side of the face.
Her body is cloth and her lower arms and legs are wood.
She is 12 inches tall.
Her body feels strong and in good order.
There is some fine cracking to her face and a fair bit of cracking to her shoulderplate .
None of this detracts however from her beauty.
She wears an original regency cotton dress which is lovely.
