This is Sarah the sewing doll.
So called as Sarah has lived much of her life in a sewing box.
Sarah is an early 19thC grodnertal.
She is 8.5 inches tall.
She has a beautiful little face, no cracking or peeling and no overpaint.
She has a fully jointed body, all limbs in good working order.
She wears a pretty pink cotton regency dress with netting overlay .
Sarah resides in the bottom drawer of this beautiful straw work sewing box dating from around 1800.
Although the exterior of the box has dulled with age, the interior is still bright and fabulous.
Sarah has several prized possessions within her box, various small regency pin cushions, along with an early wicker basket, a delicious little horsehair basket containing tiny carved dog and and a lovely early bonnet.
