I adore this wonderful early pair of boxes.

These are similar to the eglomise boxes of the 19thC, however these pictures are not reverse painted on glass but hand coloured early prints with a mirrored edgeing and covered with early (and wonderfully wavy!) glass.

These boxes date from the mid to late 18thC and are rare and delightful survivors.
