This is a rare little treasure.
A wonderful early 19thC box containing 2 Victorian iridescent scarab beetles.
These beetles were very treasured during the 19thC and often included in jewellery.
Scarabs were also greatly treasured by the Egyptians and thought to bring luck and prosperity.
I think this would be lovely present for a special early doll.
The box measures 5.5 cm by 5cm by 1.5 cm.
