A charming 1860's china head doll on jointed wooden body. This lovely doll has a beautiful face with early bun hair style.
Her china shoulderhead is in perfect condition the at the edge of the shoulder plate are not chips these must have happened in the manufacturer and have been glazed over. She has a black spot above her right eye which is a very tiny paint spot.
She has china lower arms and china lower legs. There has been a repair to the tip of her right foot which is practically invisible otherwise her limbs are in good condition.
Her fully jointed wooden body is in excellent working order however some of the wooden pegs in her arms have been replaced with metal pins this we are told was done as the original very thin wooden pins deteriorated due to the weight of the china lower arms. The replaced metal pins give greater support to the arms. She is a lovely doll to manoeuvre as all limbs and joints move extremely well.
This darling little doll comes with her original little trousseau consisting of four 1860's silk gowns all beautifully made and entirely had stitched and all fit her beautifully, even her underwear can be fully removed.
She really is a very beautiful example measuring 5".
She comes in a lovely early box.
