Gorgeous 19thC Gilt Metal Newspaper Stand

A very attractive 19thC finely worked gilt metal newspaper stand.
Contains remnants of a newspaper dated 1897, I would imagine added by a previous owner , the stand though is I am sure considerably earlier than this.
Measures just under 4 inches from top of handle to bottom of feet.
