A very nice example of carved wooden shoulder head doll dating from around 1840.
Very similar in style to the papier-mâché dolls of this period however she has a carved wooden head.
She has a nicely painted face with carved hair style which finishes in a bun at the back of her head.
She has a leather body which feels strong and sturdy, carved wooden lower arms and legs. She retains her original outfit. There is a chip on the back of her shoulder but overall in good condition.
